Installation
Prerequisites
- Linux server (Ubuntu 24.04+/Debian 12+/Alpine 3.20+)
- Root or sudo access
- Ports 80 and 443 open
- A domain with DNS A record pointing to your server's IP
Step 1 — Install Docker
curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | shAdd your user to the docker group (optional, avoids using sudo):
usermod -aG docker $USERStep 2 — Install Demyx
Run the one-liner installer:
bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://demyx.sh/install)"The installer pulls release-pinned Demyx 1.11.0 images, creates the host compose files, and installs the demyx helper script:
| Image | Purpose |
|---|---|
demyx/demyx:1.11.0 | Main Demyx container and CLI |
demyx/docker-socket-proxy:1.11.0 | Secure Docker socket proxy |
demyx/mariadb:1.11.0 | MariaDB database |
demyx/nginx:1.11.0 | NGINX web server |
demyx/traefik:1.11.0 | Traefik reverse proxy |
demyx/utilities:1.11.0 | Helper utilities |
demyx/wordpress:1.11.0 | WordPress + PHP-FPM |
After installation, the demyx helper script is placed at /usr/local/bin/demyx.
By default, the installer sends a one-time active install ping. To install without that ping and start with telemetry disabled:
wget https://demyx.sh/install
bash install --no-pingStep 3 — Configure Your Environment
Open the Demyx host environment file:
demyx host editSet at minimum:
DEMYX_DOMAIN=yourdomain.com
DEMYX_EMAIL=you@yourdomain.comThese values are required for Traefik to obtain Let's Encrypt SSL certificates.
Step 4 — Restart the Stack
demyx host restartStep 5 — Create Your First WordPress Site
demyx run domain.tld --sslDemyx will output WordPress credentials once the site is ready. Visit https://domain.tld — it's live.
